“Caru”, in the Welsh language (pronounced “carry”) means “love”. My father is originally from the breathtaking country of Wales, and my parents couldn’t have bestowed a better name on me to help shape who I am today and the person I continue to grow into, and aspire to be.
I’m passionate about coaching people, and I’m inspired by those who have found, or are seeking to find, that same passion for themselves.
“Lead with heart” is my approach to life and I genuinely care about, and want the very best for, everyone. These attributes helped fuel my 13-year career as a successful HR Director at some of NY’s top agencies, and have been the catalyst that launched Coaching with Caru.
It was roughly one year ago when I realized that the moments I spent with colleagues, coaching them through a challenge or a crossroads in their career, were the parts of my day that brought me the most joy, satisfaction, and fulfillment. It was their transformation that inspired me, and fueled me with energy and a feeling of purpose.
This got me thinking…“What would ‘Coach Caru’ tell me to do with this epiphany?” She’d say – “Use it, embrace it, own it, cultivate it, pursue it with everything you have!”
So I took Coach Caru’s advice, and I seized the opportunity my passions, experiences, and unique qualifications afforded me and started my own business.
I’m located in NYC (via Nassau, Bahamas -> Ontario, Canada -> London, UK), and coach clients in multiple cities and countries globally. After all, we live in a connected world!
I coach with curiosity, love, and a burning desire to unlock the very best in my clients.
I like to think of myself as a mash up of Brené Brown, Arianna Huffington, and Wendy Rhoades (fictional character from the show Billions). I ask clients to be their most vulnerable and loving selves, to put self-care at the top of their priority list, and have been known to get a little sassy.
Clients come to me because they have a goal they want to hit, or a challenge to overcome, and need a little fire under them to move the needle forward. Some come to me because they are burned out at work, overwhelmed at home, or a complicated combination of both and need someone to coach them through the looming brick wall.
Often stuck in a cycle of inaction or slow progress, my clients work with me to reconnect with their inner strength and wisdom, identify and stand up for their values, and ultimately move towards the life they want. Their transformation is awe-inspiring, and I love being a part of it! My coach once said to me, “You’re in the business of inspiring people.” But I have learned quite the opposite. I get to be inspired by my clients every day.
So, from my journey to yours, this is just the beginning and I couldn’t be more excited, and I hope to work with many of you soon!
But for this moment, right now, I wish you all the very best. And what I ask of you is to go after your dreams and live your happiest, healthiest life.
